Our next retreat on the beautiful island of Samui is The Joy of Vinyasa: Linking Breath, Alignment and Form. From March 19 to April 1, 2017, we’re going to practice and explore the subtle and internal principles of the Ashtanga Vinyasa series from the inside out.
In the afternoons we’ll study Sanskrit chanting, meditation, and the Shiva Samhita, one of the great classical texts on Hatha and Tantric yoga. Composed sometime between the 13th and the 16th centuries, as a dialogue between Shiva and Parvati, the text is a composite of many approaches to yoga. Philosophically it wraps all techniques and schools into the Advaita Vedanta of the Tantric Sri Vidya. With beautiful sections describing mudras, chakras, nadis, and all types of practices and visualizations, the Shiva Samhita will stimulate self-inquiry and give us more depth in practice.
This retreat is now full, but you may sign up for the waitlist at Samahita Retreat.
